Whether you’re an amateur photography hobbyist or a serious professional, you’ve probably heard that Adobe Photoshop is a necessary part of a visual artist’s repertoire. If you’ve never used it before, however, a Photoshop free trial is a must. You’ll be able to try out all the essential tools it offers before committing to a monthly subscription.

What Is Adobe Photoshop?

Ever wanted to be best friends with Kim Kardashian à la Kirby Jenner? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to ride a dragon with Khaleesi. Adobe Photoshop can make that happen for you. Not to mention it can brighten your photos, reduce dark circles under eyes, nix any blemishes, and change the color of your shirt.

There’s a reason Photoshopping has seen its fair share of scrutiny in advertising in recent years. Never before has a piece of software become such a prevalent verb. It is so robust that it can transform your photos or visual works in a matter of minutes. If you’re an aspiring visual artist or hope to work in a visual field, it’s also often a required piece of software you must know.

Why You Might Want to Get the Adobe Photoshop Free Trial

If you’ve never used the software before, you should try it out before committing to its subscription. Adobe Photoshop used to cost hundreds of dollars, but Adobe’s recent changes converted access to its software with a subscription model instead of a purchased, unlimited license.

This allows you to take full advantage of a free trial they offer and continue using the software month-to-month instead of having to lay down nearly $1,000 upfront. Times have changed!

If you are an aspiring designer, visual artist, photographer, or photo editor, you should grab the trial and start familiarizing yourself with a piece of software you’ll most likely use throughout your career.

Maybe you’re a social influencer or a business owner who has to do much of the visual work yourself. This is also an excellent opportunity to start learning the tool as it will be a primary visual editor for your work.

If you’re a hobbyist, or simply have one or two photos to edit, you can get the learning curve down in the seven days before getting a subscription for a month. It allows you to save money in the long run since you won’t be using the entirety of your subscription time solely to learn what you’d like to do.

Sign Up Process

Step 1: Click here to start the sign-up process for your free Photoshop trial.

You’ll find yourself on the Photoshop welcome page for your free trial. Click on the big button right in the middle of the page that says, “Try for free.”

Step 2: Select the trial plan you’d like to try.

A trial plan popup explains the various plans Adobe offers on the next screen. You’ll see three tabs on top and three choices below the tabs. The three tabs are ‘Individuals,’ ‘Business,’ and ‘Students & Teachers.” You’ll have to select whether you’re an individual trying it personally, you’re part of a business and looking for an enterprise solution, or if you’re an educator or student who needs it for class.

You’ll see a choice of just Photoshop, the Photography plan, or Creative Cloud All Apps plan.

The Photoshop and Photography plans are virtually the same, save for storage and price differences. To be economical, your best option is to choose the Photography plan with 20GB of storage. You can upgrade to 1TB storage later on in your subscription. Click the “Start free trial” button in the ‘Photography plan’ box.

Step 3: Continue the check out process.

The first checkout screen will ask you for your email address. This will be your primary Adobe account address, so make sure to input something you can access. Click next.

You’ll need to put in your credit card details on the next screen. After clicking ‘Next,’ you’ll arrive at the confirmation screen. DON’T CLOSE the page yet! Click the blue button in the middle of the screen to ‘set your password.’

Step 4: Install the Creative Cloud software.

Your subscription includes Lightroom along with Photoshop, so the next screen will prompt your Lightroom installation. This will then open the Creative Cloud app, where you can install Photoshop, along with many other Adobe trials, such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe After Effects, to name a few.
